About Us - Update October 2025

Living Word Christian Fellowship was founded in 2000 and established in 2001 in Lee Green, South East London, with a clear mandate to impact our borough, city, nation and beyond with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For 25 years we have been a local church with a heart for God and a passion for people and communities.
In the light of changes to the use of our church premises towards the end of last year, we have spent time together to discern the Lord's will for us in this next season and come to the settled position that it is right for us to close and for our congregation to disperse and be a blessing in other places. Whilst this might have been in some ways an unexpected outcome, we were encouraged by the revelation that although 'winds of adversity' scatter seed, the wind of the Holy Spirit takes them into the right places to germinate, become productive and fulfil the purposes of God. We were also reminded of the persecution in Acts 8 which led to a scattering of believers, which enabled the prophesied spread and multiplication of the Gospel. It is our earnest expectation that every member of Living Word Christian Fellowship will be a blessing and contribute to the growth and expression of God's purposes in other congregations as the Lord leads.
With heartfelt gratitude to God, we appreciate the significant achievement of 25 years in ministry. We reflect on all that had been accomplished, having served the Lord faithfully - the gospel has been preached, heartfelt prayers have ascended for our community, our borough, our city and our nation. Many people have come to faith in Jesus Christ, been baptised, discipled and continue to live out their faith across many spheres of influence in society.  Our members, visitors and networks have experienced unforgettable, tremendous answers to prayers: healings, miraculous provision, financial breakthroughs and uncommon promotion.
We have had the privilege of teaching children the scriptures and raising young men and women in the reverential fear of God and spirit of excellence. We have held discipleship courses, schools of ministry and provided placements, mentorship and funded bursaries for students at Spurgeon’s College, as well as outreach programmes and missions among the poor and marginalised.
God has indeed been truly faithful!..and we are forever grateful to have had the opportunity to serve Him in this way, seeing His Kingdom come and His will being done!
Although we have had to close the church and this chapter of ministry, we have been able to celebrate what the Lord has done and it has been our joy to be able to donate to partner organisations with like vision; seed investments for Kingdom advancement and an enduring legacy.
